    Nikki Clay is a singer/songwriter who has been described as having a 'Velvet Voice.' She was raised in Port Moody, BC.

    Influenced strongly by other female artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissette, Nikki has written over 20 songs and recently began recording her demo CD.

    At the age of 24, with no previous studio or live vocal performing experience, Nikki responded to an ad in a music trades publication and auditioned for some studio recording work.She landed the job and recorded 4 tracks for an independent producer/songwriter, who sensed some definite raw talent and a rare ability to emote the songs through her voice.

    Nikki was introduced to the professional music scene after attending her first showcase put on by a CAMEO (Canadian Association for Musical Empowerment & Opportunity) in the summer of 2003.After watching other people perform on stage, Nikki knew that she wanted to seriously pursue a career in music.After auditioning for CAMEO president Ron Hughes at a local karaoke night, Nikki was asked to perform at an event in January 2004 where she did an acoustic set.She was invited to perform at other showcases and events, including the 2004 CAMEO Music Festival at Heritage Park, where she performed original music that she wrote.In August 2004, Nikki was honoured to receive a Promising Vocalist Award with her evocative renditions of Faith Hill's "Cry" and "Concrete Angel" by Martina McBride.

    Over the past year, Nikki has had the privilege of performing at venues with other notable artists including: Shane Wiebe, Jacob Hoggard & Hedley, Blue Oyster Cult, Jefferson Starship, and many other high-calibre performers.

    Whenever Nikki performs, people are amazed that she is so new to the professional scene because of her natural talent and love for the stage.Since then, Nikki has enjoyed singing heartfelt and captivating renditions of the US and Canadian national anthems for the Vancouver Canadians and Vancouver Whitecaps, for enthusiastic crowds of up to 7500 people.She has also performed at private parties and other events.

    No matter where she is performing, Nikki has the ability to let go and perform with all of her heart and soul, sharing her love of music with all who are present.
