In 1925, an Orlando plumber agreed to lease a small plot of land he owned in the heart of downtown.Though he signed a 99-year lease, he expected to collect rent for about 25 years, then sell the property and retire.
But more than 76 years later, the land is still in the family, and his granddaughter is fighting a lawsuit that would have her sell the property for less than a third of what it's worth.
The Curtis Building Partnership wants it for $30,000, which it says the lease allows.Appraisers estimate that it's worth at least $100,000.
