    Student Matthew Clarke has created a multi-media TV display for the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre.

    Matthew, from Winsford, who is studying for a Foundation Degree in New & Interactive Media at the college's centre of vocational excellence was asked to develop the interactive presenration for the museum in Widnes. The project involved working alongside key filming companies including Cavalier Studios and Quadrant. Matthew used his experience in multimedia design and technology to bring the work together and the end result is an interactive display that encourages people to consider a career in the science industry. It will soon be shown via computer screens and plasma TV to thousands of visitors at the science centre and museum. anine Anderson, project manager for Catalyst, explained "The museum is undergoing a revamp to attract new visitors and we hope to encourage more people to science as a career.""Mid-Cheshire College was given the brief to help deliver a piece of display that could be shown to 12 - 16 year olds who might be considering a career in the science industry.""Matthew has done a brilliant job in terms of what he has delivered and his professional dealings with the business world."David Eaton, tutor for New & Interactive Media at the CoVE College, said "This is something that Matthew can take to a prospective employer as it demonstrates his skills in delivering a high profile project to brief and deadline."Matthew said, "I am delighted with the end result and also excited at the thought that my work will be viewed by thousands of visitors."The new interactive display at the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre officially opens in May.
