Matthew Clarke at Zion National Park, Courtesy of Clarke Family PhotojournalBorn and raised in Northern California, Matthew Clarke is the product of summer campouts on the Sierras, briskly sunny Christmas mornings and impromptu bayside adventures.

Having earned his bachelor's degree in Communications from Brigham Young University, he wrote promotional- and media-relations material for the publishing, transportation & healthcare industries in his early career.He has also written several news stories for the Daily Universe, a collegiate daily newspaper printed by his alma mater.

Enticed by the seasonal charms of the Beehive State, -- from frigid, white winters to sunburned desert summers -- Matthew has momentarily settled in Utah where he holds a client-relations position for a multinational commercial bank.

When he's not at the bank or glued to his writing desk, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family; either in the great outdoors, or on the open road.

This spring we welcome back a number of old friends whom we haven't seen for a while: Beaumont Glass, Ed Wynne, Jim Violette, Don McLain, Wanda Garland, Vic Hart, Carmen Lavertu, and Matt Clarke.

Instructor Matthew K. Clarke left college teaching in the 1960's to lead national social policy seminars and public radio discussions for a labor and social action think tank in Washington, D.C. Later he was a writer at Mergers and Acquisitions: The Journal of Corporate Venture and a consultant to the Pentagon. Clarke then switched to work for non-profits, created a pioneering national entrepreneur training program, and pursued another career in higher education management consulting. Since retirement in 2001, he has returned to leading discussion groups.
