Research!America Names Laura Clarke Vice President of Development
WASHINGTON, DC,Jan.10, 2007, Laura M. Clarke has joined Research!America, the nation's largest not-for-profit public education and advocacy alliance, as vice president of development.Clarke will serve as the organization's chief fund-raising executive and be responsible for strategic and tactical fund-raising efforts, expansion of the organization's donor base and helping to advance Research!America's mission to make research to improve health a higher national priority.

Prior to joining Research!America, Clarke served in leadership positions at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores.At NACDS, she directed foundation programs, strategic development alliances, marketing and retail services, and developed numerous partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and community-based organizations that led to growth in NACDS's support.Clarke also has marketing, sales and procurement experience with one of the national retailers, Albertsons Inc.
Clarke is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the American Management Association.She earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University, and holds an Executive Master's of Business Administration from Saint Mary's College Graduate School of Business.She lives with her husband in Alexandria, Va.
