    Allan Clarke, Director General, Aboriginal Affairs, Canadian Heritage, Gatineau, QC. Mr. Clarke is responsible for targeted programs to support Aboriginal language revitalization, northern broadcasting, youth, women and urban Aboriginal populations. In addition, the Aboriginal Affairs Branch works to promote access for Aboriginal people to policies and programs across the Department of Canadian Heritage and its portfolio agencies such as the Canada Council for the Arts and national museums. Prior to his current appointment, he held a senior position in the Aboriginal Affairs Secretariat in the Privy Council Office. He joined the Public Service of Canada in 1985 after graduating from Carleton University in Ottawa.

Originally from Duck Bay, Mr. Chief graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor's degree in Justice and Physical Education and was a 5-year member of the basketball team. In addition to his role as Executive Director at WASRA, he is Coordinator of The Innovative Learning Centre at the University of Winnipeg. He promotes a multi-cultural and multi-dimensional approach to education that involves all children and youth in the community and participates in numerous community and national events on the subject of education and recreation.
