William Travis Clark, 75, of Harrisonburg, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in Harrisonburg.
Born July 4, 1927, in Harrisonburg, he was the son of the late Clarence Preston and Muriel Snyder Clark.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Brown Memorial United Methodist Church of Christ in McGaheysville, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 4150, American Legion Post 27, The Blue Knight's International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Inc., Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge No. 13. He was a deputy with the Rockingham County Sheriffs Department and later retired from the James Madison University Police Department.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Sipe Clark, who he married Aug. 28, 1971; a daughter, Ann C. See of Harrisonburg; a son, William T. Clark Jr. of Charlottesville; four grandchildren, Sarah C. Clark, Thaddeus A. Clark, Bethany A. Clark, and Tara Sheets; and one great-grandchild, Ashley Sheets.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg conducted by the Rev. Dale Barrington. Burial will follow in Woodbine Cemetery in Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
