This year's recipients are former Addison Pubic Library board president Virginia Clark, successful Addison businesswoman Marianne Fotopoulos, and Addison police Sgt.
...
Clark served on the Library Board for 14 years, 12 of those years as president, and has served the community through many organizations including the Addison Community Council, Addison Township Republican Woman's organization, Wesley School PTA, Addison Presbyterian Church, DuPage Camp Fire Council, DuPage Swim Conference and Friar's Cove Homeowner's Association.
Clark, who was quite surprised with the honor, said her serving on the APL library board was natural.
"I've always been a library person, I was very active attending programs and they were looking for a trustee at the time," said Clark. "There are so many people dedicated to the library and the services they provide."
Clark also served on the trustee section of the American Library Association while an APL board member and worked at the Addison Park District for 34 years before retiring.
Fellow Addison resident and community volunteer Fotopoulos owns and manages her Addison-based gift basket company, Holiday Saks, Inc. She has donated her time and talents to helping organizations in Addison with assembling gift baskets for silent auctions, including those for the annual Mayor's Community Ball, Addison Woman's Club and St. Philip the Apostle Fashion Show, to name a few. Before staying home to raise her two sons, Michael and David, she had worked her way into management positions with Lever Brothers, IBM and Exxon Corp. -
