Virginia Clark

They were married for 58 years before Virginia's death in 1999.A World War II veteran, Clayton served in the United States Merchant Marines as a Pharmacist Mate stationed out of New York.Clayton worked for Pfisters Associated Growers as a corn breeder from 1948 until his retirement in 1976.During this time, he bred several high yielding hybrids. Clayton was a life long member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton where he served on many boards including church council, elders, and taught the Adult Sunday School class for many years.He was active in the Lutheran Layman League and was the state president for several years.Clayton was also active in the Carroll County Democratic Society and served on the Town Council for several terms.He was a 50 year member of the Carrollton Lions Club.Clayton was very active on the Oak Hill Cemetery Board where he served as President.
