Virgil Clark '50
Vigil Clark '50 was born and raised in Greenville North Carolina.Clark graduated from ECTC in 1950 and during his time on campus was actively involved in theater, student government, sang in the Minstrel's, was a cheerleader and a member of the first R.O.T.C. class and was a distinguished military student.Following graduation, Clark went on to a military career with the United States Air Force.He retired from the military in 1969.He has worked as the director of marketing for Fresh Way Foods in Greenville and American Truck and Auto Leasing.
In 1985, Clark received the Distinguished Alumni Service award in recognition for his commitment to ECU.Clark has served as president of the ECTC Club and started, along with his wife, Frances Clark '52, the Virgil S. and Frances D. Clark Alumni Scholarship.

When asked to comment on Virgil's contributions, Associate Vice Chancellor for the Alumni Association, Paul Clifford, had this to say: "Virgil Clark is the definition of a lifelong Pirate.

Our motto of "Servire," meaning "to serve," is personified by Virgil.He serves his country, church, community and his dear ole East Carolina."
