"There are currently concerns over the safety of products which have passed through the clinical trials process such as the MMR jab.I wonder if now is really the time to introduce a relaxed regime for herbal remedies.This could give the consumer the impression of official approval of the remedy without requiring the manufacturer to prove efficacy of it."

"Many consumers may not pay sufficient attention to such notices and would assume that if herbal remedies are sold side by side with other medicines that they have gone through the same rigorous tests that the public has come to expect in relation to such medicines."
