The Tigers Wives designed the quilt with the assistance of first baseman, Tony Clark. His wife, Fran, president of the association, spearheaded the campaign after learning about the work of Starr Commonwealth.

Detroit Tigers players, coaches and managers have autographed the quilt. Quilter Mary Williams, mother of a Starr Commonwealth employee, donated her time to hand-stitch the piece.

Since 1913, Starr Commonwealth has been dedicated to helping troubled youth and their families focus on building understanding and skills that enable changes toward living productive lives. Consumers Digest rated the organization the sixth most efficient charity in the nation.

The autographed quilt will be on display at Comerica Park all season. Raffle tickets will be sold during each home game for $ 5 each and three for $ 10. Tickets may also be made available at Starr Commonwealth sites.
