   Dr. Clark graduated from Davidson College and The Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina. He and his family have lived on the Virginia Peninsula since 1994. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity.
   
   Dr. Clark is one of the most experienced surgeons in Virginia having performed more than 2000 weight loss surgery procedures (vertical banded gastroplasty/gastric bypass and LAP-BAND) since 1994. Dr. Clark founded the Weight Loss Surgery Center of Hampton Roads in 2002 in order to provide comprehensive surgical, educational and support services for his patients. Dr. Clark has been the Bariatric Program Medical Director at the Sentara CarePlex Hospital since 2003.
   
   Dr. Clark has chosen to dedicate his entire practice to weight loss surgery and medical weight loss. In order to fully complement services available to patients, he has passed his written and oral boards in bariatric medicine as well. He feels that this sub-specialty within his profession gives his patients a unique opportunity to optimize their weight loss with his medical and surgical expertise. He truly enjoys working with his patients to assist them in meeting or exceeding their health goals.
