Dr. Terry Clark, professor of political science and director of graduate programs in International Relations, is an avid e-mail user in his line of work, but was more affected with his off campus activity involving research, than on campus. While at school, students could call or stop by his office, when trying to get in touch.
"I rely on external sources that come to me via e-mail," Clark said."I was running the risk that the people running list serves would throw me off."
Clark said he does not plan on finding an alternate e-mail system in case this problem arises again. He said servers like Hotmail and Yahoo are frequently banned from list serves, and he will still stick with Bluejay.Clark said his workload was not increased because of the shutdown in Creighton e-mail.However, more students showed up at his office, which he said is actually a good thing.
The Rev. Roc O'Connor, S.J., said that he was lucky this week because he did not have to rely on e-mail for a change to distribute important information.O'Connor said that if this happened last week, during a normal e-mail he would have had more problems.
