Sonora High Principal Terry Clark said many students carry the players, and some teachers at the school even allow students to listen to music on an iPod while taking tests.
Clark's main concern, he said, is student use of electronic devices for high-tech cheating on exams , like text messaging answers in between class periods.
"The issues that modern technology have brought about are no more or less than issues we've always had," Clark said."It's just more accessible and easier."
Clark said the school is not considering a ban on such devices."You can't have a policy that says no iPods because you'd have have a policy that says no cell phones and personal organizers, because they all play music now," he said.
