    Tanya Clark , a specialist in Japan studies , has been a Tokyo-based journalist for nine years crafting stories for a wide variety of publications and radio programs in North America , Australia , Asia , Japan and Europe.

    Clark has a Master's degree in Japanese policy-making.Her thesis was on the decision-making process in Japan's science and technology bureaucracy.Her bachelor's degree focused on political science , Japan and Asia.Prior to coming to Japan in 1990 , Clark was the Representative ( Australian ) at the Sydney office of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization ( a research arm of Japan's Ministry of International Trade & Industry ) .

    Clark is current president of International Women in Communications , a Tokyo based non profit group for women in communications in Japan.

    Two books on Japan are forthcoming.One is about Japan's Bit Valley and the internet revolution.The other delves into Tokyo of the 90s.
