    Stanley Clark Our conductor, Mr. Stanley Clark, was born in Toronto where he attended university and completed the Bachelor of Music degree and the A.R.C.T. on euphonium.

    He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and earned the Master of Music degree at the prestigious Eastman School of Music.

    Later, he was conductor of the Band of the Royal Regiment of Canada and taught music in Toronto high schools. Until his retirement, Mr. Clark was Head of Music at Glebe Collegiate in Ottawa.

    In 1988 he was assistant editor of the Canadian Music Heritage Society's publication, "Music for Winds" an historical compilation of Canadian band repertoire.

    In 1999, he was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ottawa-Carleton Board of Education.

    Six years ago the band was restructured as the National Capital Concert Band under the direction of Stanley H . Clark. The band performs music for the traditional concert band, both original and transcribed works, which display the versatility of the ensemble. Their repertoire includes music to accommodate a variety of musical tastes from classical and symphonic works to Broadway shows and military marches. Since its inception the band has presented concerts in a variety of venues throughout the Ottawa region. In 2002 the band released its first CD recording.
