   The ceremony was attended by a large number of dignitaries besides family members of students and faculty members of MCBS which included Dr Bernard Laberge, dean of MCBS, and Dr Sharon Clark, associate dean of the College of Arts and Science, University of Missouri, St Louis (UMSL), USA.

   Dr Sharon Clark, associate dean, college of arts and sciences, UMSL, in her speech, extended her congratulations to both the graduate students as well as their parents and said that a representative of UMSL has been present at every commencement of MCBS academic year.
   
   She complimented those connected with higher education in Oman for their wisdom in nurturing private colleges and universities like MCBS that have become so important to the social and economic development of the Sultanate.

   Associate Dean Clark joined the administration of the University in April 1994. Prior to coming to UM-St. Louis she had served as Director of Continuing Education for Corning Community College in Corning, New York and prior to her stay in New York she had been the Director of Administration for the School of Technology and Information Management at Washington University. All together Ms. Clark has over 20 years of experience in student services and university administration. Of all her responsibilities she values the opportunity to serve students and to assist in their progress as the most rewarding. She represents the student point of view and interests on several university and college committees. Ms. Clark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Kansas State College and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
