Sharon Clark of Danville has received the Paul Harris Fellow Award, the highest honor given by the Rotary Club.

Clark received a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Kentucky, and also did post-graduate work at UK. She has worked 35 years, mostly in perinatology, and is currently in her 27th year at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in the obstetric Neonatal Unit. She has been nursery facilitator for 23 years, and became a board-certified lactation consultant in 1996. She has spent many years working with newborns and their parents teaching pre-natal classes and facilitating a breast-feeding support group.
In the early 1990s, Clark was selected as Nurse of the Year at McDowell hospital, and appointed as a delegate to the Kentucky State Nurse of the Year honorary meeting. She is one of the first in the state to teach national neonatal resuscitation and serve as a regional trainer. She also helped organize the Compassionate Friends program in Danville, and is a member of the National Honorary Sorority for Nurses.
Active in Indian Hills Christian Church, she started a Christian Women's Organization in 1976. She has taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and youth groups for 30 years at the church. -
