   Ruth trained in dance at Laine Theatre Arts and then full time at Laban before beginning her teaching training at Brighton University. Ruth has performed with Surrey Opera Society and Kettle of Fish Theatre Company at different times as actor, singer, dancer and choreographer. Ruth has danced for Marina Collard, performing in universities, art galleries, choreographic platforms and in Resolutions 1999 and 2001.

   Ruth has worked as a dancer in research and development for Ginger Dance Theatre and the Choreographic Lab (1999). Between 1997 and 1998, Ruth taught Dance at Hextable Secondary School up to A-level. Other UK teaching venues include Brighton University, the University of Hertfordshire, Lewisham College and at Laban. Ruth also trained teachers for JC2000, the Millennium Arts Festival for schools. Since joining SDC in 1997, Ruth has taught and performed in a wide range of settings in Europe, America, Australia and China. She is also a member of Wise Moves.
   
   Ruth is married to Richard and was appointed Artistic Director of Springs Dance Company in May 2003.
