Ruth Letitia Clark
Volunteer
Ruth Letitia Clark, 82, who volunteered with local social service organizations and was a member of National Presbyterian Church in Washington, died of respiratory failure Jan. 5 at Sibley Memorial Hospital. She had pneumonia.
Mrs. Clark, who lived in Bethesda, was born in Des Moines. She attended Drake University there. As a young woman, she was an editorial assistant at a Des Moines publishing company and clerked for the Red Cross.
She was president of a Washington area PEO Sisterhood chapter and of the Sumner Garden Club and a member of the Junior League of Washington and the Salvation Army Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Robert V. Clark of Bethesda; three children, Anne B. Clark of Amherst, Mass., Sara C. Clay of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Robert V. Clark Jr. of Highland; a sister; and seven grandchildren.
