Ron Clark, who on a normal day would be working for the Health Department's Division of Mental Health in Burlington, sat at work station 15 on Wednesday, taking some of the calls. He is one of 141 Agency of Human Services employees who volunteered to be temporarily reassigned to keep the call center going seven days a week.
"We were expecting a barrage of calls," he said. By Wednesday afternoon, he had answered several, including one from a pharmacist who said a customer's prescription drug provider was refusing to cover the amount of medicine the person needed. Clark passed the call along to someone else at the center with more expertise in the area.
