   Tucked away at the end of a cul de sac, Clark builds mantels in his workshop and does assorted carpentry work in his basement.
   
   Although he had been doing finish-work in construction, working in cabinet shops and doing odd jobs since he was about 8, Clark only recently put up his own shingle to go into business for himself.
   
   While working as a sales specialist at Lowe's, he was doing freelance jobs on the side.
   
   The demand was so great for his work that he was turning people down, Clark said.
   
   He formed Clark's Home Maintenance and Mantels LLC this past spring.
