   Businessman and former Dean of Leeds Business School, Dr Rex Clark, has recently been appointed as the new Chairman of the Yorkshire and Humber euro Forum. After a business career in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, Dr Clark came to the region in 1990 to take up his appointment at the Business School, where he remained until 1995.
   
   He is currently a Non-Executive Director for Leeds-based Yorkshire Group plc and C. Scruton & Sons Ltd and a Managing Partner of the management consultancy firm, Metatonics. Commenting on his new post, Dr Clark said "I am delighted to take up this appointment-particularly at a time when the euro is one of the key issues for business. Leaving aside the hotly debated question of whether or not the UK is ever to adopt the single currency, the euro is still a reality and many businesses, large and small, are beginning to feel its impact on how they do business.
   
   Since taking up his new role, Dr Clark has been working with the rest of the Forum members to plan a programme of activity for the coming year, to raise euro-awareness and make sure local firms have access to the information and advice they need.
