   Ralph Clark is a Venture Partner of Ascend Venture Group, LLC and an entrepreneur who has led several successful e-commerce start-ups.He is currently founder and Chief Executive Officer of blue makoi, a company that has developed an ASP based e-mail messaging platform for next-generation eBusinesses.Prior to founding blue makoi, Ralph served as President and CEO of Inquisit, an Internet-based electronic news clipping service and as the President and CEO of Direct Medical Knowledge, a Web-based consumer-oriented health information site that was successfully merged into WebMD.Previously, Ralph was Vice President of Finance and Business Development for Evolve, Inc.In addition to his entrepreneurial experience, Ralph worked as an investment banker for Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs.Ralph also spent ten years at International Business Machines as a marketing and sales manager.
   
   Community and non-profit work is an important part of Ralph,s life.He is on the board of directors of the Oakland Boys and Girls Club, Silicon Valley Community Ventures and the Museum of Children,s Art.
