   This was my first visit to the United States and it exceeded all my expectations due in no small part to the extensive hospitality of the ESU branches in Washington, Dallas and Houston, particularly the efforts of Martha Chawner and Pat Clark in Dallas and Beth Fotheringill in Washington DC..

   The successful candidate, Ms Pat Clark, from the Robert E Lee Elementary School visited schools and libraries throughout the UK. The programme was organised by the Page Memorial Library in London.
