   Pat Clark named New Diana superintendent

   Pat Clark, 51, currently superintendent of schools at Lexington ISD, has been named as the new superintendent of the troubled New Diana ISD, after a meeting of the board of trustees late Saturday night. Clark was the coordinator of special educationfor seven school districts in Upshur County for several years and is well known in the East Texas community. Clark's title will become official 21 days after the school board named him as the lone finalist for the position.

   Clark, the superintendent designee, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Texas at Tyler and a Masters Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin University, and taught in Hallsville, Harleton and New Diana. Before being hired as superintendent in Lexington, he had served as an assistant superintendent in Gilmer ISD.
