   High Point, NC, May 25, 2004 , Norwood Clark was recently named President of the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners. The appointment was made on March 25, 2004 when the Board held its annual election of officers for the 2004-2005 year.
   
   Governor Michael F. Easley appointed Norwood G. Clark, a Director with Dixon Hughes to a third three-year term on the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners on July 1, 2004.

   Clark,s previous experience with the Board includes a six-year term from 1995 to 2001 during which he served as President (1997-1998), Vice President (1996-1997), and on the Professional Standards Committee, the SQR Advisory Committee, the Personnel Committee, the Communications Committee, the Executive Committee and the Real Estate Committee.
   
   The North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners is an independent state agency composed of seven members appointed by the Governor for three-year terms. The Board is responsible for granting certificates of qualification as certified public accountants (CPAs) to those individuals who meet the legal requirements. The Board also adopts and enforces the rules of professional ethics and conduct to be observed by CPAs in this state.
   
   In addition to his involvement with the North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners, Clark is also active in a number of professional and political organizations including: a member of the Board of Trustees of the State and Local Governmental Retirement Systems; former Treasurer for the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA); and Chairman of the CPA Associations Political Action Committee.
   
   Clark merged his firm, Clark-McNairy, CPA-PC with Dixon Hughes in 2003. With a career spanning almost four decades, Clark has served in a variety of accounting roles. He was employed with the State of North Carolina for 22 years prior to establishing Clark-McNairy, CPA-PC, where he served as Principal for 16 years. Clark has served as a consultant and advisor to CPA firms, local government units, and not-for-profit organizations and authored numerous governmental and not-for-profit continuing professional education courses. As a Director with Dixon Hughes, Clark,s primary focus is the further development of not-for-profit and governmental client services throughout the Firm.
