   Michael Clark is one of a vanishing breed: a native of Boulder. Having grown up here, he remembers what it was like before our current community organizations came along. Although he wasn't OUT until Amendment 2, Michael is impressed by how far we've come since then, and is proud to be going into his fourth year as a member of the board of Boulder Pride.
   
   Michael's volunteer work in the community started with his involvement as a facilitator for OASOS, the Boulder County Health Department's GLBTQQI teen support group. From his own experience growing up in Boulder County, he had a special appreciation for the importance of peer support for gay youth.
   
   While working with OASOS, Michael was invited to attend Boulder Pride Board meetings. Back then, the Board was less formal than it is today -- more a federation of Boulder County community groups than a distinct board. There was no executive committee, and their only programmed event was Pride Week.
   
   Today, Boulder Pride has grown into a thriving organization with several committees, a part-time administrator, a new volunteer coordinator, and big plans to create Boulder County's first Community Center. As the longest standing member of Boulder Pride's Board, Michael brings a unique historical perspective to the group.
   
   Michael works as a loan officer for a local credit union, and lives with his partner of four years in the house they just bought in Lafayette. He spends his free time working on the house, entertaining, yardwork, trying to decide on paint colors, and working on the house some more.
