Even though Lynne's and Mindy's goals were different, their strategies were similar. Both agree that the #1 goal to success was to "change their attitudes and take baby steps".Lynne shares her secrets to losing more than 50 pounds over the past three years.

Lynne ClarkLynne likes to think of herself as an ordinary person doing extraordinary things. She works at the Owen J. Roberts Middle School as a classroom aide in the Life Skills class. She has also been a director with The Pampered Chef for the last 15 years, a job that incorporates her love of cooking.

In the past three years Lynne has lost more than 50 pounds and improved her health and well-being.A pre-diabetes diagnosis was a red flag for her to make some lifestyle changes. With the help of a dietician, she learned how to keep tabs on carbohydrates and fats by portion control. She also began walking three miles, three to four times a week, and recently (after hitting a plateau) has added swimming and water exercise classes.

Lynne says she has a wonderful support system with her family."They're always helpful at keeping me on track and encouraging me," she says."The changes I have made in my life have also helped them and resulted in my husband losing 25 pounds and working out on a regular basis as well.

Lynne says she was doubtful, at first, that she could make the changes, given her age (nearly 50 when she began her weight loss)."If I can do it, anyone can," she says.
