   Leo Clark, President and Owner of Fitness Lifestyles has grown F/L from a fitness equipment repair company in 1984 into a premier Fitness Sales, Service and Repair Fitness Equipment company.    "The revitalization of Asbury Park requires a united community working towards a common goal, and as a long-time active member of the Merchants Guild of Asbury Park, I celebrate the community's commitment to our downtown area," Leo P. Clark, president of Fitness Lifestyles, Inc., said in an e-mail to guild members yesterday afternoon.

   One of the few business people to speak out in favor of the idea was Clark, the owner of the former Newberry's building. Clark said the rental of his building to the school district would "support the economic growth of Asbury Park and protect local residential property values."
   
   "Considering Asbury Park's storied past and the community's long list of seedy businesses, the introduction of an educational community to our downtown represents a major milestone that should be celebrated," Clark said in a statement last week.
   
   The building now houses Clark's business as well as Asbury Health and Fitness on the second floor. Members of the health club have been told that it is closing as of June 10.
   
   "Supporting this project, and the community's commitment to education, will help preserve Asbury Park's future, and will provide for a daily stream of return customers to local businesses," Clark said in his earlier statement.
