Newcastle Knights strength and conditioning coach, Lee Clark has announced he will move away from fulltime employment with the club to establish his own consultancy business.
Clark, who has been with the Knights for seven years said today his time with the club had been a series of highlights, but the time and opportunity had come to move in a different direction.
"After such a long and successful stint with the Knights, I've decided to move on and tackle some new challenges," he said.
...
"I had been aware for a while that Lee was keen to start a consultancy business, which was impossible to establish whilst working in a fulltime capacity with the club," he said.
"As I understand it, his new role with the Newcastle Jets will allow him to pursue those goals and he certainly goes with our best wishes."
"I would like to pay tribute to Lee for the work he has undertaken over the last seven years, but in particular his efforts since the completion of the 2004 season in taking the club in a new direction"
"After a full review of our football operations last year, Lee was charged with the responsibility of implementing a number of key initiatives regarding our physical preparation."
"In doing so, he has laid the foundation for what we expect will be a very successful season in 2005."
"The fact that he will remain with us until the off-season programmes have been completed is particularly pleasing."
With Coach Michael Hagan in Queensland in the emerging Origin camp, no decisions have been made regarding a replacement for Lee Clark.
