   "This indicates the critical need to increase the pool of qualified nurses in North Carolina in order to give the best education to nurses who will provide direct and patient care," said Kathy Clark, Director of Nursing Education at Southern Regional AHEC, who collaborated with Duke University School of Nursing to bring the program to the region. "Ultimately, with more and better qualified nursing faculty in the state, the quality of nursing care and subsequent health care outcomes will be improved."
