   Manry, a former Lake Wales mayor who is currently the director of development and membership at Historic Bok Sanctuary in Lake Wales, did not follow a direct course to her current position. Instead, she took a winding path, gathering life and work experiences, working in such diverse fields as politics and retail.
   
   No matter what job she was doing, however, it was always important to work a job "with a mission," a priority she credits to a stint working at the Lake Wales Care Center Thrift Store.
   
   "It was a turning point in my life," she said. "However, I've had about a jillion turning points."
