SHA's Home Health Director Karen Clark, RN, is proud of the staff and effort put forth to garner such a high ranking. She is particularly proud of the organization's consistently high ranking in all 12 categories. The rates were based on episodes of care from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008. "We put a lot into this," she said. "When you are good in all 12 you are doing very well."

The areas of measurement include: percentage of patients who get better at walking or moving around, percentage of patients who get better at getting in and out of bed, percentage of patients whose bladder control improves, percentage of patients admitted to the hospital as well as other areas.

SHA's Home Health was established in 1983. Twenty-five employees work hard to service an average of 80 to 100 home health patients a month in five counties (Monroe, McMinn, Meigs, Loudon and Roane), Clark said. She said there are several keys to Sweetwater Home Health's success, including assessing the patient's needs right off the bat.

"When a patient calls, we actually make a home visit," Clark said. The home health center has a nurse dedicated to overseeing the day-to-day services for patients providing consistent care, all under the leadership of Medical Director Dr. Thomas Evans, Clark said.

Karen Clark is the mother of six and works at home as a "Scrap in a Snap" consultant.

Following is the interview that BizTalk4U conducted with her:

Erum: Why did you decide to work at home?Karen: I have been in direct sales for 10 years now.I am a mom of six and also homeschool 2 of the six.I knew that I needed to find a job that would allow me to continue my daytime family priorities and also allow me to stay home at night with my family.

Erum: Is any training required for this business? Karen: None!
    ...
Karen: When I found Scrap in a Snap, I knew that I would love the products and save money with the discount since my 2 girls and myself are avid scrapbookers.
    ...
Karen: I joined the same day as I found the opportunity.Ok so I am a risk taker but look at where it has me now!I am happy that I made that choice to jump in.

Erum: Where are you located? How does your location help in your business?Karen: I am in Wisconsin.I work from my home so I have sales online.I also recruit online and through paper ads so the location isn`t as important.

Erum: What feedback do you usually get from customers?Karen: They love the products. The quality of our products is outstanding.I try to give customers the best customer service that I can and they have commented on how the communication is very nice.

Erum: Any advice to people who want to be entrepreneurs?Karen: If the cost is low, risk taking may be good.
