   John joined Airways in 2001 to assist in the growing workload associated with developing our objectives of securing a role in the operation of an ATS provider working outside New Zealand. John came to Airways with a broad background of commercial and international experience built on formal qualifications as a Chemical and Materials Engineer. Since joining Airways John has worked closely with Lockheed Martin in identifying and developing partnership opportunities internationally, and particularly in the SEA region.
   
   John previously worked in Bz Development capacities in Asia Pacific (Aus NZ PNG) and USA for nearly 20 years (with BOC Group (new industrial gases applications), Schlumberger (oil industry), and for a privately owned New York Merchant Bank who owned a new technology company called Hydrox Corporation).

   AIRPORT LOGISTIC SUPPORT-Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman Felicito C. Payumo and Airways Int'l, Ltd. (AIL) Business Manager John S. Clark recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement which tasks AIL to do a comprehensive study and evaluation of Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA) and see how it can maximize the place into its full use.    "SBIA has great potential to be the country's gateway to Asia-Pacific region and with the ongoing infrastructure projects such as Subic-Clark road, it will surely boost its potential as a destination for both local and foreign travelers," Clark added.

   Payumo also disclosed that FedEx had not officially expressed their intention to transfer operations, but it is looking at the possibility of expansion in Clark because of anticipated volume increase and the arrival of big planes such as Airbus 380 which Subic airport cannot accommodate because Subic airport is "hemmed in between mountain and the bay".
