   According to Police Chief Jim Clark, gang members started their operation in Ottumwa after they were chased out of Chicago by police and rival gangs.
   
   Clark said the gang is known for everything from selling drugs to murder and about every crime in between.
   
   "I think several of them have had previous drug convictions, I know one of them has been arrested for murder twice, hasn't been convicted for either one of those arrests.These are really bad people," Clark said.
   
   Ten people were arrested on Friday as part of the drug trafficking operation.

   Eight were made here in Ottumwa and one was made in St. Louis, Missouri," said Ottumwa Police Chief Jim Clark.

   Chief Jim Clark told KTVO that all nine people that were arrested moved to Ottumwa from the Chicago area about two years ago.According to the chief, there are ties between all of the suspects.He, however, declined to go into further details about their connection.
   
   Officials have shut down both businesses.Clark told KTVO that one of the suspects, William Edwards, operates both businesses.

   "This was a major drug organization that has now been stopped and it's certainly going to make Ottumwa, as well as the surrounding community, a lot safer," Clark said.

   Eight people were pulled Sunday from the flooded Des Moines River in Ottumwa after their boat capsized, police Chief Jim Clark said.Four were treated for hypothermia, Clark said.
