Jim ClarkJim Clark was named assistant general manager of the Columbus Blue Jackets on July 13, 1998 and has served as the club's executive vice-president and assistant general manager since July 6, 2001.He brings over two decades of coaching, scouting and administrative experience to the Blue Jackets and is actively involved in all business aspects of the organization as well as the areas of scouting and player development.
His duties also include overseeing the hockey operations efforts of the club's minor pro affiliates - the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, Dayton Bombers of the East Coast Hockey League and Youngstown Steelheads of the Central Hockey League.Clark has been instrumental in Columbus' primary affiliates enjoying the best seasons in the respective franchise's histories during their Blue Jackets' affiliations.

Clark came to Columbus from the Florida Panthers, where he was a key member of the club's scouting staff from 1995 to 1998.The highlight of his tenure in Florida came during the 1995-96 season when the club advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Prior to his stint in Florida, Clark was a member of the Detroit Red Wings organization for four seasons.He served as a pro scout and the director of operations with the Adirondack Red Wings of the American Hockey League during the 1993-94 season.Adirondack finished in first place in the AHL's Northern Division that year with a 45-27-8 (.613) mark.From 1990-93, Clark was an Atlantic Canada Scout for Detroit.
Clark accumulated 10 years of Junior A hockey experience before joining the professional ranks, serving in various capacities for the Western Capitals in his hometown of Summerside, Prince Edward Island.His time with the Capitals included stints as the team's general manager, head coach and assistant coach.The excellence of his work with the club was recognized when he was selected the Executive of the Year by the Prince Edward Island Hockey Association in 1989.
Clark was born on March 16, 1954.He is a graduate of Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, where he played hockey for four years and earned a bachelor's degree in commerce.His three daughters Meghan, Brittany and Rebecca reside with their mother, Natalie, on Prince Edward Island.
