A Tribute to Jill Clark
...
CCF has received messages from every corner of the world - all honoring Jill Clark . Below is just a small sample of those thoughts and prayers.
It is with a deep sense of shock and disbelief that we learnt of the death of Jill Clark in Iraq. This senseless bombing of the United Nations building could only be seen as a babaric act which could not in anyway be justified as being done in the interest of the people of Iraq.We pray that God bless the soul of Jill and give her family the strength to cope with this loss.
Ousman Cham, Regional RepresentativeCCF West Africa

Dear Colleagues,I just wanted to extend my condolences to you on the tragic and terrible death of Jill.I, like you and many people around the world, are in mourning at so many losses.Losses of which we are still unaware of the complete ramifications.
However, I just wanted to share something positive with you about Jill - to ensure that her passing was not in vain. Before meeting Jill I didn't really understand what it meant to implement a child-rights based approach to humanitarian assistance.Jill patiently explained this to me - giving me many concrete and practical examples of what this meant in reality.

Jill was a person who was so practical and also so very committed to the protection of children - a passion so close to mine. That alone encouraged me so much.No words can express my heartfelt sadness at the loss. She will be missed so much and I am extremely thankful for all she did to protect children and her willingness to share ideas.

On behalf of the Board and staff of the International Eye Foundation, I want to extend our deepest sympathies at the loss of Jill in the bomb blast in Iraq yesterday. While she died most honorably doing what she cared about and had a passion for, the loss of innocents is wasteful and extremely hard to bear. With our sincere condolences.
