Jessie Maud Clark was born near Mortlach, Sask, and entered the University of Saskatchewan at age 15. After completing a B. Sc. Degree, she worked as an interior decorator, then went to Normal School to become a Home Economics teacher at the Moose Jaw Technical School in 1939. She was one of the first women to join the RCAF in 1941. She was stationed in Brantford where she met her first husband, Neil Skelton. After the war, Jessie returned to teach at the Technical School. She married Ellwood Ellard (from Mortlach) in 1951. They lived in Edmonton and Leduc where they ran Ellard Motors until Ellwood passed away in 1967. She loved dogs, horses, watching football, baseball, hockey, curling, playing bridge, painting and gardening. At Jessie's request there will be no funeral. She has been cremated and her ashes will be buried in Moose Jaw with Ellwood at a later date. Many thanks to the Home Care Nurses, family and friends for the support and care shown to Jessie.
