   Clark Joins ISD Communications Team: Effective February 10, Jessica Clark joins the ISD Advancement team as Assistant Director of Communications. She brings several years of USC campus experience with a publication portfolio that includes the USC campus directory. She holds a BA in communications with a minor in writing from UCSB and an MA in communication management from USC. Her duties will include communication functions relating to donor records and stewardship, ISD web projects, the ISD project management protocols, and ISD assessment. She will also continue to be the lead on the campus directory.

   Jessica Clark has been working on it since she arrived at USC Information Services in September, 2001, and now it's ready: distribution of the new 2002 USC campus directory, already in many hands across campus, should be complete by mid-February.

   Clark, who came to ISD from USC Public Relations Projects, says that the newest edition is mostly quite similar to its predecessors.

   The main challenge, says Clark, was, not surprisingly, diplomatically "bringing in information from so many different sources, most of whom already have full time jobs aside from having to update campus directory information."
   
   Nevertheless, the work proceeded on time, and on budget track, with a sizable improvement in printing cost: 20 percent less than last year, Clark noted, for the same print run, roughly 15,000 copies. Clark accomplished the project with help from student workers and consultant Steve Farrell, who oversaw the campus directory effort last year.

   In addition to planning the next directory, Clark is also working on the ISD intranet, which will help facilitate internal ISD communications. "I'm busy," she said.
