The speaker was Jennifer Clark, manager of the Providence Children's Services, which is located in a new building at Providence Hospital. This is a section of the hospital that deals with children who have special needs relating to their development. It handles children from newborn to age 16, and from all walks of life. About 35% of the children cared for are in the Foster Care system, so we felt we were complying with the Founder's Day program for this year.
After Jennifer spoke and we had a brief business meeting we enjoyed cake and punch and ogled the beautiful Binkies, shared coversation and patterns. A nice time was had by all.
Last week one of the ladies and myself delivered 16 of the Binkies to the Providence Services Center and we were given a tour of the new facility. It is on the first floor of the new 5 story building. We were not allowed in the NICU floor but were taken to Maternity, Breast exam wing and a full tour of the Children's areas. The building is beautiful and does not make you feel like you are in a hospital. -
