Jeannette R. Clark
HAMPTON - Jeannette R. Clark, 93, formerly of 79 Mace Road, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Seacoast Health Center.
She was born Feb. 24, 1908, in her parents' home on Exeter Road, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Moulton) White. She was a direct descendant of Daniel Moulton, one of the original settlers of Hampton.
She was a graduate of Hampton Academy and Keene Normal School.
Mrs. Clark began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse in Antrim. After two years, she returned to the Seacoast and became the teacher in the one-room schoolhouse in the Smithtown section of Seabrook. In 1947, she became a sixth-grade teacher at the North Hampton Elementary School, in what is now known as Centennial Hall. She continued teaching in North Hampton until her retirement in 1968.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a member of the North Hampton Garden Club.
She enjoyed her family, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and recorded the game scores in her journal. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, tole painting and trips to her summer camp on Connor Pond in Ossipee.
The widow of Raymond W. Clark, who died in 1988, she is survived by one son, Raymond C. Clark of Brattleboro, Vt.; one daughter, Nancy J. Osgood of Hampton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by five siblings. -
