   Frances Clark-Patterson, Ph.D., LADAC, MAC, CCJS, QSAPDr. Clark-Patterson is the current Director of Behavioral Health Services at Metro Public Health Department in Nashville, Tennessee.She obtained both her Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in the Alcohol and Drug Education Rehabilitation Program.Frances completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Southern California University for Professional Studies.She is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor in Tennessee, a NAADAC Certified Masters Addictions Counselor, a Qualified Substance Abuse Professional, Certified Criminal Justice Specialist and Tennessee Certified Clinical Supervisor for A&D licensure.Frances worked as a counselor and program administrator in treatment programs in Virginia and Tennessee over the past 17 years.She also does program development, coordination and implementation as well as supervises clinical work with the counselors at the Behavioral Health Access Program at the Health Department.
   
   Frances has conducted professional training locally, statewide and nationally for more than ten years on topics such as ASI/ASAM, Case Management, Assessing for Co-occurring Disorders, Sexual Transference and Counter-Transference, Self care for the Helping Professionals, Addiction and Hepatitis C, Intake and Assessment, Confidentiality, Substance Abuse in Dentistry, Mental Health Issues for Adolescents and other topics in the addictions and mental health fields.She is a member of the NAADAC Trainers Academy and is a NAADAC approved trainer.Additionally, Frances has seven years of experience in state conference planning, coalition building and community collaborations.
   
   Dr. Clark-Patterson will recieve her award at the NAADAC National Conference this year in California.

   This year's recipient, Dr. Frances Clark, has been an addiction counselor for 17 years and a trainer for 13 years.She was the president of Middle Tennessee Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (MTAADAC) for two years and is the president-elect for the Tennessee Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (TAADAC).Dr. Clark is also a nationally recognized expert as Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) look to her for advice and guidance.
