    Doris Clark-Parham, Director, Adventures in Math and Science Upward Bound, Murray State University. Clark-Parham has also served as Associate Director, African-American Recruitment at Murray and as Director of Western KY Economic Development Corporation/TVA.     Doris Clark-Parham currently serves as the Director for the Adventures in Math and Science, Upward Bound Program at Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky. Her past work experience includes: Associate Director of School Relations for African American Recruitment (1993-2000), Coordinator of Minority Student Affairs (1991-1993), Learning Specialist for Murray State University's Upward Bound Program (1980-1990), and Director of the Western Kentucky Economic Development Corporation (May 1995-December 1995).

    She received her BS degree in Marketing in 1987, Masters of Public Administration in 1994, and a Masters of Science in Organizational Communication in 1998 from Murray State University. Doris is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy in a Global World. This program is a joint program between Murray State University and the University of Reading, Reading England.

    She has also served as Campus Advisor to several organizations including: the Racer Girl Dance Team, Black Student Council, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated to name a few.

    Doris has been involved in numerous organizations. She served on the executive board for the Kentucky Association of Blacks in Higher Education for 10 years in the roles of Corresponding Secretary, Nominations Chair, Conference co-chair and Southwest regional representative. Some of her other professional and Civic organization memberships include: Kentucky Association for Secondary and College Admission Counselors (President, 1999-2001; Human Relations Chair, Conference Planning Committee), National Association for College Admission Counseling (Orlando, Florida Hospitality Committee member, 1999; Assembly Delegate, 1999-2000; Human Relations Committee member 2000-present; Chief Delegate, 2001, President-Elect Nominee 2002), and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People; Southern Association for Educational Opportunity Program Personnel and Kentucky Association for Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (Secretary 2001-present; Treasurer 1988-1990). Doris is a three time elected City Council Official of Murray, Kentucky. Currently she is an active class member of the 2003 Lower Mississippi Delta Leadership Program.

    She has received several awards and honors. Doris is a 1995 graduate of Leadership Kentucky, the Western Kentucky Tennessee Valley Authority Focus 2000 Leadership program, and the 2002 Leadership West Kentucky Program. Doris was also named one of the Outstanding Young Women in America in 1986 and received a Kentucky Colonel award. She has presented professional workshops nationally and internationally. In 1996, she presented a research paper at the University of Regenzberg, Germany entitled, Youth in Crisis. Early in 2001, Doris was a Kentucky Ambassador to Japan through Leadership Kentucky. Last summer she traveled to China and visited many historical sites. Doris has served as a Counselors of Color Faculty Member at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia in 1998; Galluadet University, Washington, DC in 1999; The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio in 2000; Albuquerque, New Mexico, 2001; and Tempe, Arizona 2002.
