Juanita grew up in Apache and graduated from Apache High School. She attended business college in Anadarko for 2 years. She married Lloyd Clark of Anadarko, and they lived all over Texas and New Mexico with Phillips Petroleum Company. They moved back to Anadarko in 1965 from Grants, New Mexico, where Juanita had worked as a bank teller. She went to work at the Anadarko Bank and Trust as a teller in 1965 and retired in 1979. She and Richard Leighton were married on February 11, 1977, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They were members of the Twilighters Club and for several years enjoyed traveling with them and going camping. Juanita liked to sew, and enjoyed her flower gardens. She also loved birds. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anadarko.
