DEBORAH M. CHUN

Deborah M. Chun is a founding partner of Oshima Chun Fong & Chung, LLP. She represents both borrowers and lenders in asset based and commercial real estate financing and in acquisition and development financing for hotels, shopping centers, office buildings and residential subdivisions. Deborah has extensive experience in counseling local and mainland lenders on state and federal laws and regulations related to consumer lending. She also advises commercial lenders on foreclosure matters, the enforcement of security interests and bankruptcy.

Deborah is the Hawaii reporter for the ABA Commercial Financial Services Lending Law Guide and a co-editor of the Hawaii Real Estate Financing Manual and the Hawaii Real Estate Law Manual. She is a long-time member and past chair of the Section on Real Property and Financial Services Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association, and served as a member of the Opinion Committee of that Section which produced the Hawaii 2000 Report Regarding Lawyers' Opinion Letters in Mortgage Loan Transactions. Deborah has been invited by the Hawaii State Bar Association and various industry and business groups to speak on a number of matters, including financial services, real estate, consumer credit and foreign investment issues. Deborah is listed in Woodward White's The Best Lawyers in America under both banking and real estate law for the State of Hawaii. She is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, 1977, cum laude.
