7 , 2000--Jae Jun Choi , a veteran executive in Korea's semiconductor industry , has joined Fairchild Korea Semiconductor as vice president in charge of manufacturing at the plant in Puchon , South Korea.

Mr. Choi , 59 , has extensive management experience in the industry including at the Puchon plant , where he previously worked.For nine years in the late 1980s and early 1990s , he served as the plant's assembly division director and managing director when the plant was owned by Samsung Electronics.Fairchild Semiconductor International ( NYSE : FCS ) acquired the plant from Samsung in April 1999.

Mr. Choi began his engineering career in 1967 with Signetics Korea.In the past 33 years , he has held management positions with Keumann Chemical , Samsung Electronics , Towa Korea Co. and Kukdong Numerics Co.While employed by Samsung Electronics , Mr. Choi served as counselor to the president , as well as in management positions in Puchon.

Mr Choi graduated from Hanyang University where he majored in Industrial Engineering Science.
