    Dr Colleen Chesterman has an Honours Arts degree from Sydney University, a Master's in Sociology from Warwick University in UK and a Doctorate in Creative Arts from UTS.She has taught in schools and universities and worked in publishing and research.For three years, she was Deputy Director of the NSW Women's Co-ordination Unit and for four years Director of the NSW Council of Social Service, the major representative body in social policy and community development.Since 1997 she has been National Director of ATN WEXDEV, an executive development program for senior women in 5 major Australian universities.In this role, she has published extensively on women's leadership in higher education.She has developed and run a number of training programs on personal professional development, change management and strategic planning.In 2000 she wrote Mentoring for Women in Higher Education for the Association of Commonwealth Universities and has set up a mentoring network in South Africa and trained women in mentoring in Pakistan.Since 2000, she has run an Australian government-funded program in South Africa, establishing a training and support network among senior women in South African higher education She is currently undertaking a major Australia-wide research project on senior women and their impact on managerial cultures, in universities, public and private sectors.
