(KANSAS CITY, Mo. - September 6, 2002) - North Wales resident Sandie Chester-Kunkely will trade in her computer for a microphone this weekend when she joins the Motor Racing Network (MRN) team, the voice of NASCAR, as an Honorary Reporter at Richmond International Raceway.
Chester-Kunkely, an administrative secretary at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, won the Honorary Reporter position through an auction on the Kyle Petty Charity Ride's eBay site.As Honorary Reporter, Chester-Kunkely will get a behind the scenes look at the world of NASCAR and how it is brought to race fans across the country through MRN Radio.Chester-Kunkely will have access to the garage, pit road and victory lane with the rest of the MRN production team.Her voice will be heard on more than 650 stations in 48 states when she interviews Winston Cup driver Kyle Petty during MRN's broadcast of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo 400.
"I am so excited I hope I'll be able to speak," said Chester-Kunkely.
